You will be redirected to your list of available sites.
Click on the site you would like to view, and you will have access to each dataset.
How to Sign Out
Click your name at the top right of the page.
You will see a dropdown appear.
Click 'Sign Out' at the bottom.
You will be redirected back to the login page.
Viewing your User Information
Click your name at the top right of the page.
You will see a dropdown appear.
Click 'Profile'
This will show you your user information.
The 'Measure' Tab
Left Click
Holding 'Left Click' allows you to drag the map around.
It will not rotate the map or change the zoom.
Right Click
Holding 'Right Click' will allow you to alter the zoom by moving your mouse forwards to zoom further in or backwards to zoom further out.
Middle Click
'Middle Clicking' is when you 'Click' with the Scroll Wheel
Holding 'Middle Click' and moving the mouse will allow you to alter the 3D View of your dataset.
Scroll Wheel
Scrolling up will zoom in on the map.
Scrolling down will zoom out from the map.
Timeline
Select the timeline to see older or newer datasets.
By dragging the selector between the dates, you can see progress fade between each dataset.
For information about the tools in the 'Measure' Tab see 'Measurements' later in the tutorial.
The Designs Tab
Here you can toggle designs on and off in the map view.
To upload a design, simply hit 'Import a Layer' then drag and drop the design into the window.
File Formats must be:
DXF
TTM
KMZ
KML
CZML
The Survey Tab
Select the Map Layer(s) you want to view.
Orthophoto
The 'Orthophoto' Layer is the finished photo of the entire site.
Terrain
The 'Terrain' Layer is what gives the map its 3D look.
Toggling this off will make your view of the map flat.
Camera Positions
The 'Camera Positions' Layer gives you a look at each spot the drone took a photo, including the elevation.
Elevation Map
The 'Elevation Map' Layer will show you a heat map of the elevations on site.
The colors representing different elevations can be altered in the box on the left of the screen.
Gradient Map
The 'Gradient Map' Layer will color code the gradients on site.
The colors representing different gradients can be altered in the box on the left of the screen.
Contour Lines
The 'Contour Lines' Layer will show contour lines for different elevations.
Data Overlays
Users with 'Edit' Level Access can upload useful files as layers to the dataset.
Supported File Formats:
GeoJSON
DXF
KML
KMZ
CZML
See 'Access Levels' later in the tutorial for more information on the different user permissions.
Making Measurements Basic Controls
Click on the type of Measurement you would like to make:
Lines
Polygons
Points
Select your Preferred Template
See 'Measurement Templates' later in this tutorial for more information.
Left Click the map to place points. (The vertices of your Measurement)
To finish a Measurement, click your last point (vertex) and it will finalize the shape.
Once the Measurement is drawn, a box will appear on the left with more options.
Moving, Sharing, and Deleting Measurements
Select the checkbox next to the Measurement you want to move, share, or delete.
At the bottom of the list of measurements there is a white rounded shape with your options:
Move To
Select or create a folder to move the measurement.
Share
Creates a shareable link to that measurement.
The link can be accessed by anyone with login access to the site.
Delete
Deletes the selected measurement from the dataset permanently.
Three Dot Menu
Export as KML
Saves the dataset as a KML file
Export as DXF (Outline)
Saves the dataset as a DXF file
Duplicate to this dataset
Duplicates the selected measurement to the dataset, can be modified separate of the original.
Copy to another dataset
Copies the measurement to another dataset for comparison or modification.
Promote to site
By default, measurements are made dataset by dataset.
Selecting 'Promote to Site' makes that measurement available on all previous and future datasets.
Types of Measurements
Lines
Drawing a line on the map will extract measurements only on portions of the dataset directly under the line.
These are used to pull measurements like 'Gradient' or 'Elevation' of the dataset beneath it.
This cannot be used for something that requires another dimension, like 'Surface Area'
Polygons
Drawing a Polygon on the map will result in measurements from the area under the drawn portion as well as in-between each vertex.
Unlike a Line, it will always take measurements by circling back to the first point upon completion.
Points
Points only extract data from what's directly underneath the point.
They can effectively be used for notes without making large distracting shapes on screen.
Lines/Cross Section
Berm Check
Measure safety berms, bunds, windrows, or other barriers. Draw a line across the barrier to calculate the height and widths.
Cross-Section Comparison
Draw a line across an area of cut or fill, then compare levels of the line section between surveys or against a design.
Distance
Measure the distance between two points.
Elevation Difference
Draw a line between two or more points and calculate the difference between the points.
Road Grade
Draw a line along a section of road, pavement, or track to calculate the grade as a ratio. (i.e. 1:9)
Polygons
Basic Volume
Measure the Volume of Material within a Polygon.
Compare to Latest Design
Measure the difference in volume between the selected survey and the most recently dated design surface.
Compare to Previous Survey
Measure the progress or change in volume between the selected survey and the most recently dated design surface.
Earthworks Progress
Measure the earthworks progress from last survey and current survey to design.
Stockpile
Measure a stockpile on even ground (flat or sloped.) For material with an uneven base, use the Volume Compare tool with a design surface.
Surface Area
Measure the surface area within a Polygon.
Volume from Lowest Point
Measure using a horizontal base plane defined by the lowest point of your Polygon. Useful for measuring pit walls, benches, and blast volumes.
Points
Elevation History
Track the change in height of a specific point over the course of multiple surveys.
Point of Interest
Mark features of interest on your site for easy record keeping or sharing with your team.
Safety Hazard
Mark safety hazards and assign severity.
Exporting PDF Reports
Above the map, click the dropdown for 'Reports'
Select 'PDF Report'
Only Visible Measurements (Measurements with Checked Boxes) are rendered to the report.
Select your content preferences, and hit 'Download Full Report'
'View' Level Access
Most Restricted Access Level
Users can only view existing datasets. No measurements or designs are visible. No data, reports, or measurements can be created, edited, or exported.
'Export' Level Access
Users can generate reports, export measurements, and download any processed files for the existing dataset.
'Edit' Level Access
In addition to the functionality of 'View' and 'Export', users can create, edit, and save measurements.
Users can also upload files to the dataset and change settings for a site.
Those settings include:
Project Name
Coordinate Reference System
Units of Measurement
Sharing Individual Measurements
Select the checkbox next to the measurement you want to share.
At the bottom of the list of measurements, there is a white rounded shape with your options. Hit 'Share'
This creates a shareable link to that measurement. The link can be accessed by anyone with a login connected to that site.
Sharing access to the Full Site
Near the top right of the page you will see the word 'Share.'
Click 'Share' and enter the email of the user you want to add.
By Default, the new user will only have 'View' Permissions.
In order to change that, contact your Assigned Pilot.
Modifying Terrain to Improve Accuracy
The Terrain on each dataset can be edited so things like trees or vehicles are not taken into account for measurements.
Your Assigned Pilot will edit away vehicles during processing.
If you see something we might have missed or that you want to be taken out of the dataset, simply make a measurement and 'Share' it with your Assigned Pilot. We will remove it from the terrain.
Data Viewer Compatible Browsers
Currently, only Chrome Version 64 or Higher is compatible with the Data Viewer.
